The Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL is part of the Derby Hotels Collection, which has developed a sustainability and corporate social responsibility program, IN DERBY HOTELS WE TRUST, which includes all its commitments and actions for sustainability, art, culture, and people.

Our sustainability program is based on environmental footprint management to curb and mitigate the effects of climate change. Therefore, innovation and facility efficiency are key to reducing environmental impacts.

At Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL, we recognize that our hotel's activities have the potential to generate negative impacts on the environment and the community if not managed appropriately. That's why we have implemented an Environmental Management System that meets the requirements of the EarthCheck Company Standard.
Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL is committed to continuous improvement and undergoes annual Benchmarking Assessments. Our hotel team strives to minimize our impact on the environment by implementing sustainable measures that aim to improve the hotel's performance, reduce energy and water use, and minimize waste generation.
Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL will comply with all applicable laws and regulations and aims to achieve best practice standards. We have appointed an EarthCheck Coordinator, who is responsible for improving the hotel's sustainability performance. The Green Team is also involved in this process, facilitating the management of all operational areas.
Special consideration will be given to hiring and providing opportunities for local employees, and, to the extent possible, sustainable products and services will be purchased locally in accordance with Fair Trade principles. We encourage staff to communicate our commitment to environmental and social sustainability to all key stakeholders, including guests, suppliers, and contractors.
Since 2023, the Claris Hotel & Spa 5* GL has been BIOSPHERE CERTIFIED, successfully implementing best practices and meeting the standard requirements for sustainable and responsible tourism outlined in the Commitment to Sustainable Tourism - Barcelona Destí Biosphere program.
