The Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL is part of the Derby Hotels Collection company, which has developed a sustainability and corporate social responsibility program, IN DERBY HOTELS WE TRUST, which includes all commitments and actions for sustainability, art, culture and people.

At the Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL, we recognize that our hotel's activities have the potential to generate negative impacts on the environment and the community if not managed appropriately. That is why we have implemented an Environmental Management System that meets the requirements of the EarthCheck Company Standard.

The Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL is committed to continuous improvement and therefore undergoes annual Benchmarking Assessments. Our hotel team strives to minimize our environmental impact by implementing sustainable measures aimed at improving hotel performance, reducing energy and water consumption, and minimizing waste generation.

The Claris Hotel & Spa 5*GL will comply with all applicable legislation and regulations, and aims to achieve the highest level of best practices. We have appointed an EarthCheck Coordinator, who is responsible for improving the Hotel's sustainability performance. In addition, the Green Team will support this effort, facilitating the management of all operational areas.

Special consideration will be given to hiring and providing opportunities for local employees, and where possible, sustainable products and services will be purchased from the local market in accordance with Fair Trade principles. We encourage staff to present our commitment to environmental and social sustainability to all key stakeholders, including guests, suppliers, and contractors.

In 2026, the Claris Hotel & The 5-star Grand Luxury Spa has received the EARTHCHECK SILVER CERTIFIED accreditation, the world's leading environmental certification and benchmarking program for the travel and tourism industry.

Since 2023, the Claris Hotel & Spa 5-star Grand Luxury has also held the BIOSPHERE CERTIFIED rating, successfully implementing best practices and meeting the standard requirements for sustainable and responsible tourism outlined in the Compromís per la Sostenibilitat Turística - Barcelona Destination Biosphere program.
